Editorial standards
Before a visualization is published, an editor must be able to answer these questions.
- Accuracy — are the numbers correct?
- Provenance — where do they come from?
- Transformation — what was calculated?
- Interpretation — is the headline supported by the data?
- Caveats — what can you not conclude from this chart?
- Recency — is it still current?
- Rights — may we publish it?
If any of these is unresolved, the visualization is not published as verified. We publish no invented sources, no invented data, and no charts without sources for factual claims.
